Pierre Billon, screen writer

PIERRE BILLON, a novelist and a screenwriter of Swiss origin, has lived in Canada since 1965. Very active in the film scene, he's written Un Homme et son péché with the director Charles Binamé, and Nouvelle-France directed by Jean Beaudin.

He taught at the University of Montreal, as well as being the editor of the educational magazine at Éditions Fides, and directing a teachers development project at the ministère des Affaires culturelles et de la radiodiffusion. He then became Senior Advisor to the Department of Communications. Teacher at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Arts, he's published his first novel, L'Ogre de barbarie, in 1972.

Several literary successes followed, including L'Enfant du cinquième Nord (1982), L'Ultime Alliance (1990) and Un Bâillement du diable (1998).
