Jean Beaudin, director
JEAN BEAUDIN studied at l'École des Beaux-Arts
in both Montreal and Zurich. He then began working at the National
Film Board (NFB). In 1977, he produced what is perhaps his greatest
work, J-A. Martin, Photographe, which
won the Jury prize at the Cannes International Film Festival and
received an Award of Excellence from the Los Angeles Film Advisory
Board. These are just two of the many prizes BEAUDIN
-- who has over a dozen films and as many television productions
to his credit -- has received over the course of his directing career.
His film credits include Le Matou (1985),
Being at Home With Claude (1992), Souvenirs
intimes (1998), and Le Collectionneur
(2001). Without BEAUDIN, television
viewers would never have enjoyed L'or et le papier (1989)
or Les filles de Caleb (1990-1991). Nouvelle-France
(2004) presents this seasoned director with a new challenge - it
is the biggest production of his career.
