IRÈNE JACOB got
her start in French cinema in 1987. Four years later, she became
an instant star after appearing in La Double vie de
Véronique (1991). She was only 24 at the time.
For her performance, JACOB received
the award for the Best Female Performer at Cannes. With a filmography
that comprises more than 30 films, she has played a central role
in many successful productions, including Trois couleurs:
Rouge (1994) and Othello
(1995). She has also been in a number of television series
and adores acting for the theatre. JACOB studied
at the Geneva Music Conservatory and sings, plays the piano, violin
and cello. She also speaks six languages! |
Her character : Angélique de Roquebrune
Mistress of the Intendant Bigot, she hosts balls and feasts
to warm the hearts of her guests. With her lover, she plays a strategic
role in the colony's political intrigue.
