DAVID LA HAYE's film career
started in 1988 with Dans le ventre du dragon.
From that point on he appeared in many films. In 1996 he received
his first award -- a Best Actor Genie for his role in L'Enfant
d'eau (1994). He was also awarded the prize for Best
Actor at the Dallas Film Festival in 2001 for his performance in
Éric Tessier's short film Viens Dehors (1997).
Two years later he won the Best Actor award at the Santo Domingo
Film Festival for his performance in Un crabe dans la
tête (2000). DAVID LA HAYE has
also worked on a number of television productions. His performances
in Blanche (1992), directed by Charles
Binamé, and Omertà 2 (1996-1997)
both earned him Gemini nominations. He also worked in over a dozen
theatre productions in throughout the 1990s. DAVID LA HAYE
is recognized for his ability to play complex characters,
a fact illustrated by his role as the bad guy in the comedy
Méchant Party in 1999. |
His character : François Le Gardeur
François Le Gardeur is a bold and adventurous young man. Upon returning to Canada after studying law at the Sorbonne, he rejects his family, which he finds too bourgeois. He decides to roam in the bush and live with the Indians -- who the settlers call the savages. After hunting season is over, Le Gardeur hastens to Quebec City where he meets and falls in love with Marie-Loup.
